1. Artificial Plant Propogation

Objective:

To understand and demonstrate different techniques of artificial plant propagation, and observe how new plants can be produced without seeds.

> Promoting Hands-on Learning and Observation:
Encourage practical skills by observing and performing plant propagation techniques, such as growing from seeds or cuttings.

> Fostering Environmental and Economic Values:
Instill the importance of sustainable plant cultivation for environmental balance and explore how propagation can support income generation in agriculture and horticulture.

By encouraging students to use public transportation and bicycles, we aim to reduce carbon footprints and foster healthier lifestyles, achieving a dual benefit for our students and the planet.

Public transport minimizes the number of vehicles, helping maintain a calm and organized campus environment.

Benefits of the Initiative:

Reduced Environmental Impact: Fewer private vehicles result in lower carbon emissions, contributing to a cleaner environment.

Healthier Students: Cycling promotes physical fitness, mental well-being, and reduces the risk of lifestyle related diseases.

Student and Parent Feedback

The initiative has received widespread acclaim, with parents praising the secure bicycle facilities and emphasis on public transportation.

Our school’s National Cadet Corps (NCC) students organized a No Tobacco Rally to raise awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco. Over 25 NCC cadets marched through local streets, holding banners and placards with messages like “Say No to Tobacco” and “Tobacco Kills.” The rally aimed to educate the community about the dangers of tobacco consumption, including lung cancer and heart disease, promoting healthy living and encouraging others to protect their health.

During the rally, NCC cadets engaged with locals and shopkeepers, distributing pamphlets that highlighted tobacco’s harmful health effects. The event successfully spread awareness about tobacco’s dangers, promoting a healthier environment and encouraging tobacco-free lifestyles. This initiative is part of the school’s ongoing mission to educate youth about tobacco’s risks and empower them to make informed, healthy choices.

  • No Tobacco Rally supports environmental conservation, especially focusing on tobacco packaging:

  • Cuts Chemical Pollution: Tobacco packaging involves printing, dyes, and adhesives, which release harmful chemicals into the environment during production and disposal.

Objective:
  • To learn about the Nakshatra (constellation) plants and their significance.

  • To understand the medicinal and ecological importance of various plant species.

  • To explore the mythological and astrological connections of plants.

  • To encourage awareness of biodiversity conservation.

Students observed various species like:
🌿 Peepal (Ficus religiosa) – associated with the Pushya Nakshatra.
🌿 Banyan (Ficus benghalensis) – linked to Rohini Nakshatra.
🌿 Neem (Azadirachta indica) – related to Mrigashira Nakshatra.

Key Learnings

Scientific Understanding: importance of these plants in maintaining ecological balance.
Cultural Awareness: Traditional beliefs and their role in conservation.
Biodiversity Conservation: The need to protect native plant species.
Health & Environment: How plants improve air quality and have medicinal benefits.

Benefits of Installing an SWTP

Environmental Protection:
Treated sewage reduces water pollution and protects natural ecosystems.

Water Conservation:
Treated wastewater can be reused for landscaping, irrigation, and flushing, reducing  dependence on freshwater resources.

Regulatory Compliance:
Adherence to pollution control standards avoids legal penalties and enhances  institutional reputation.

Cost Savings:
Reuse of treated water lowers water procurement costs over time. At our school, treated water is practically used for watering plants, maintaining greener grass pitches, and cooling down outdoor areas during extreme heat or windy conditions, thereby ensuring sustainable and efficient usage.

Community Health:
Proper treatment minimizes the risk of waterborne diseases.
