Empowering Young Women: VPDCPS Hosts Vital Adolescent Girls’ Health Seminar

BARAMATI, [11th December 2025]:
Vidya Pratishthan’s Dr. Cyrus Poonawala School (CBSE) in Baramati organized a crucial awareness program on adolescent health for girls today. The initiative aimed to educate students on the physical, emotional, and nutritional well-being essential during puberty.
Principal Ms. Yashaswini Nigade felicitated the chief guest and keynote speaker, Dr. Medha Shah, a specialist invited to lead the session. Students from classes 6 to 12 participated enthusiastically in the engaging event.
The program commenced with an informative address by Dr. Shah, who provided comprehensive insights into the physical and hormonal changes that occur during adolescence. She underscored the critical importance of maintaining menstrual hygiene, consuming a balanced diet, and engaging in regular exercise to ensure holistic health.
A dynamic question-and-answer session followed, encouraging students to openly seek clarification on common issues such as menstrual health concerns, body image challenges, and emotional changes. The attending faculty highly commended the students for their openness and confidence.
The session also included practical demonstrations on the proper use and disposal of sanitary pads and best practices for maintaining cleanliness. Furthermore, the school hosted an educational display of various iron-rich foods and healthy snacks to promote nutritional awareness and strategies for anemia prevention.
Principal Nigade praised the initiative, emphasizing that such programs are vital for empowering young women with accurate knowledge and fostering healthy, lifelong habits.
The awareness program was exceptionally well-received by the school community and is considered a significant step toward supporting adolescent girls in understanding and confidently navigating this important phase of their lives. Mrs. Vaishali Hiwarekar delivered the formal vote of thanks, concluding the successful event.
